Overall purpose of the job
The objective of this consultancy is to coordinate the activities of the Vector Atlas team and their partners for the successful implementation and day-to-day running of the project.

Specific Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Liaise between icipe, University of Oxford and international partners to ensure the aims and timelines of the project are being achieved by each group and collectively.
• Budget management and financial reporting.
• Communication with stakeholders: processing feedback and promoting the Vector Atlas hub.
• Organizing virtual and in-person project meetings and running the events.


Requirements/Qualifications
▪ A Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science.
▪ Demonstrated experience in vector research.
▪ Demonstrated administrative skills.
▪ Demonstrated ability of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
▪ Fluency in spoken and written English, with good and effective communication skills.
▪ Able to work in a multicultural environment and able to interact effectively with partners.


Core Competencies
▪ Successful project management: clear communication between team and partners to ensure targets are met and effective collaboration between all groups.
▪ Budget management of icipe sub-award and overall project finances.
▪ Stakeholder engagement to develop Vector Atlas network and inform platform development.
▪ Organization and implementation of virtual and in-person
project meetings.
▪ Strong people skills and ability to manage and motivate teams to produce desired results.
▪ Dependable with a keen sense of timeliness and orientation for results. Ability to work within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects/tasks.
▪ Excellent written and verbal communication in a cross-cultural setting.


Reporting
This position reports to the Head of Data Management, Modelling and Geo-information Unit.
