Overall Job Function

  • Reporting to the VACS Coordinator, ICAP in Ethiopia, the VACS Response plan Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a Violence against children and youth survey (VCAS) response plan in Ethiopia.

  • Response plan Coordinator will be responsible for developing, updating, training, and exercising a
    comprehensive VACS Response Plan for participants identified as needing referrals during VAC survey implementation.

  • Additionally, this position will assure that the VACS field staff and partner organizations are appropriately trained and are knowledgeable about the responses to emotional, sexual and physical violence per the protocol.

  • Collaborate and coordinate plans with various response agencies, volunteer organizations, business, and private industries.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the response plan for participants identified as needing referrals during survey implementation.

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of VACS response plan for participants identified as needing referrals

  • Provide required resources to response plan implementers, supporting service provision, case management, and referrals for additional services
    such as clinical care, police, or legal services.

  • Provide technical support to field teams in response plan

  • Assist recruitment, training and supervision of VACS project staff

  • Assist in developing relevant SOPs and training manuals

  • Conduct frequent field visits for supportive supervision and monitoring

  • Prepare progress and other required reports

  • Perform other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor

    Qualifications

  • At least a Master’s degree in social science or related field

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as a response plan coordination

  • Must be familiar with field work and population-based surveys.

    Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to act as a manager in setting priorities and be able to indicate when central support is required.

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Amharic or Oromiffa or Tigrigna or Afar or Somali and other local languages as appropriate

  • Basic Skills in computing

  • Should be able to conduct periodic domestic travels throughout
