ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks highly qualified candidates to serve as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Expert - Tanzania.

The incumbent will will provide technical expertise for in-depth geospatial analyses of HIV epidemiologic and program data that can be directly applied to expedite the achievement of PEPFAR targets to attain and sustain control of the HIV epidemic.

S/he will work with the Project Director and other technical leads to design and maintain geodatabases to conduct spatial analyses. S/he will provide support in this area to the donor, the Ministry of Health (MOH), and the ICAP project team.

ICAP seeks highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Expert position by December 15, 2019.

The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Geography, Geographic Information Science or related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in working with GIS, GPS, geospatial data, and relational database management systems
(RDBMS).

S/he will have demonstrated knowledge of best practices for cartographic design, metadata documentation, and projected coordinate systems, and will be proficient in geospatial and statistical methods and analysis.

The incumbent will have a demonstrated track record working with issues related to HIV/AIDS in resource-limited settings. The GIS Expert will also be proficient using ESRI ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS for Server, and s/he will have advanced proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop. Proficiency in SAS, STATA, or R statistical software is preferred.
