Reporting & Working Relationships

  • The cashier Accountant will be reporting to the Treasury Operations Manager.

    Essential Job Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility

  • The Cashier Accountant is responsible for cash transfer to field offices, cheque preparation, advance settlement, petty cash holder and other accounting activities as per the standard operating procedures of ORBIS

    Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that proper financial policies, procedures, and systems are operated and maintained at the field office.
  • Prepare transfer letters for all requests of transfer against with the notification letter and present to the Treasury and Operations Manager for checking.
  • Prepare analysis sheet for all procurements and other payments as per the request.
  • Prepare Bank Payment Voucher (BPV) for all check payments and transfer letters and cheques.
  • Prepare Withholding Tax receipt for payment needs, tax deduction and make sure to attach to each payment.
  • Prepare analysis sheet, BPV & cheques and provide for checking and approval for the Treasury/Operations Manager.
  • Prepare Cash Receipt Voucher (CRV) for each and every incoming from Orbis International and deposit each cash from settlement of advance to the bank timely.
  • Prepare cash positions daily (Update) for each account separately and
    send to the Treasury Operations Manager every day so that cash position should be monitored effectively.
  • Prepare Staff Local Travel Expense Reimbursement (TER) as per the need (if any)
    Record monthly withholding tax that is deducted from all supplies during the month.
  • Prepare Amharic letter for Tax settlement for project areas and send the scan copy for each project.
  • Settle monthly tax of Head office after having the reconciled figure from MIP accounting software and pay to Ethiopia Revenue Customs & Authority / ERCA timely.
  • Petty cash replenishment as per Orbis Policy since this replenishment has its cap amount to get replenished.
  • Prepare social contribution deposit summary sheet for each month as per deduction from salary.
  • Collect bank statement and cash transfer advice from bank
  • Assist monthly closing by provide petty cash schedule
  • Any other responsibilities as directed by the Treasury Operations Manager

    Job Requirements

    Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • BA in Accounting Minimum 2 years relevant NGO experiences
  • Good knowledge of financial principles and practices.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office application software, any accounting software and good
  • knowledge of MS Excel is mandatory.
  • Excellent coordination skill, time management, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team.
  • Good command of English.
  • Ability to travel when required.
