Job Title: Care & Treatment Cluster Advisor

Duty Station: Amhara (Bahirdar), Oromia (Addis Ababa), Addis Ababa City Admin. (Addis Ababa)

Line Manager: Regional Director

Position Summary

The Care & Treatment Advisor will provide technical assistance to the selected Health Facilities to enable them implement high quality comprehensive HIV care and treatment services.

S/he will follow up the planning and updating the execution of planned activities of the selected facilities team. S/he will support with a focus on meeting the PEPFAR 95-95-95 goals.

Major Accountabilities:

Under the supervision of ICAP Deputy Regional Director, the Care & Treatment Advisor will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Support the selected health facilities in planning, capacity building, implementation support and monitoring of linkage of identified HIV positives for early ART initiation, adherence support and viral load monitoring.

Provide scheduled regular supervision/mentoring and support to the site MDT to improve ART coverage, adherence and VL suppression.

Ensure documentation at ART and PMTCT clinics.

Ensure optimal linkage of all identified positives for early ART initiation and enhanced counselling to improve adherence &retention as per the SOP.

Ensure availability of SOP/GL/PST/M & E tools for HIV care and treatment, provide orientation, and monitor its use.

Ensure HFs assignment of trained HCWs for provision of ART.

Strengthen ASM for DSD, support HFs initiation and integration of mental health screening service and management to

ART care.

Support the site on TLD roll out and optimization of ART for children.

Support implementation of TPT as per the GL in the region.

Support HFs initiation and integration of mental health screening service and management to ART care.

Strengthen timely VL monitoring and improved result management through mentorship.

Ensure weekly monitoring of all high viral load results.

Follow and support facility level MDT for provision of ICT/KPFS/SNS/Targeted PITC /Early ART/Intensive VLM services at regular and extended hours as per the SOP and GL.

Ensure the HF supports and monitors activity of UHEWs on community level for Tracing of LTF.

In collaboration with ICAP team and site staff organize HF level weekly PR on progress of case identification and linkage for early ART initiation.

Actively participate in documentation of experiences, lessons learned, case studies and other technical documents.

Submit weekly/monthly reports to his/her supervisor on time.

Job Requirements

Required Qualification & Experience

MD or HO/BSc Nurse with 3-4 years’ work experience working on HIV/AIDS care and treatment

Experience as Clinical Mentor is highly preferred.

Ability to establish and maintain teamwork

Basic computer knowledge (MS office Plus)

Proficiency in written and spoken English.
