Overview of Program

  • Currently HI Ethiopia is implementing an inclusive health program named Women’s integrated Sexual Health, WISH2ACTION Programme - the new flagship of UKAID funded health programme; and lead by International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and implemented in consortium with other organizations (FGAE, MSI, IRC & DMI) to transform the lives of women reproductive aged, underserved groups and marginalized populations in ensuring equitable access to and inclusive FP/SRH services.

  • This project is a comprehensive and applies integrated approach to delivering the program outputs in order to ensure equitable access to family planning services and sexual and reproductive health rights through prioritizing the most underserved women and girls, particularly youth under 20, the very poor, and marginalized populations (including people with disability, people displaced or affected by humanitarian crisis, and people living in hard-to-reach areas) in selected woredas in Addis Ababa city, Oromia , Sidama, Gambella regions of Ethiopia.

  • HI Ethiopia is looking a qualified and experienced individual consultant to undertake policy review on existing national and international legal frameworks and assess status of application of the United Nations Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (UN CRPD) to develop a comprehensive disability right based policy analysis with regards to family planning services and SRH rights.

    Duration of the consultancy

  • The development of the policy review analysis must be completed within one and a half month from signing of contract agreement including preparation up to final reporting.

    Job Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of Degree or above
    educational qualification in public health, sociology, law, social science or any relevant field of study.

  • Previous experience on similar activities for NGOs at national or international level.

  • Knowledge on disability concepts, advocacy, policy analysis, disability rights, UN CRPD and its application status in Ethiopia context.

  • Knowledge & technical expertise on policy landscape, context analysis, disability research and Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) rights.

  • Skills and experience on conducting research, analysis of findings, writing results and developing solid recommendations. Familiarity with the local, national and international actors working on disability and disability rights.

  • Ability to work with a team and independently and welcoming comments.

  • Computer skills and Fluency in English and local languages.
