Hotpoint Appliances LTD Accountant Jobs in Kenya; Responsible for processing transactions, maintaining proper books of accounts, preparing financial reports, plans, forecasts and analysis to facilitate effective decision‑making across the organization.
The role covers cash and tax accounting, providing timely, accurate and complete financial information, and generating data‑driven insights to optimize costs and drive business performance.
Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Process transactions, maintain books of accounts and prepare financial reports.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures; assist Finance / Treasury / Credit Manager.
Prepare, consolidate and track financial entries for accuracy and completeness.
Monitor and control costs; review and approve journals.
Prepare reconciliations, commentaries and reports comparing actual performance vs budgets.
Analyze trends in revenues, margins, overheads and tax to provide insights for planning.
Assess impact of tax changes, accounting policies and procedures.
Collaborate with other accountants and build strong cross‑functional partnerships.
Develop templates for scenario analysis (overheads, revenues, margins, working capital).
Identify and analyze tax savings opportunities.
Drive revenue and cost optimization initiatives.
Provide management with analysis and advice on cost allocation.
Use qualitative and quantitative techniques to gauge efficiency of overheads utilization.
Perform cost/benefit analysis for projects, services, leasing, pricing and discounts.
Partner with non‑finance teams on revenue and cost control.
Work with retail, sales, marketing and supply chain teams to map cost optimization opportunities.
Participate in cross‑functional review of cost center reports.
Assist Financial Accountant in finance training and awareness programs.
Conduct trade visits to develop commercial appreciation of the business.
Evaluate effectiveness of cost optimization initiatives.
Monitor
departmental cost efficiency.
Facilitate audits and perform self‑assessments on overheads/tax procedures.
Coach and train other accountants; support line managers on development plans.
Implement and improve financial data, systems and reports.
Participate in committees or task forces for performance improvement and strategy execution.
Carry out ad hoc assignments as directed by line Manager, Financial Accountant or CFO.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics from an accredited university.
Membership of a recognized professional accountancy body (e.g. CFA, CPA, ACCA).
Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a busy finance environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with analytics tools (BI, Qlik, Business Warehouse) is an advantage.
