Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the spray and scout team report to work on time and without fail.

  • Review any overtime worked and ensure it is authorized and compensated for as per the company policies.

  • Uphold general discipline of your team and ensure that the company policies and procedures are followed.

  • Inducting new supervisors in your department into the mainstream activities of the spray department

  • Ensure that safety of the workers including yourself is always observed by ensuring that all workers are suitably dressed in the PPE issued to them.

  • Ensure that accidents and incidents are reported in the injury report book which should be filled soon after first aid is administered and the report submitted to the relevant office the same day. A statement of account should also be written by the witnesses.

  • Ensure that the workers grievances are channeled through to management and report situations that may destabilize the smooth running of the company’s operations.

  • Report any health hazards.

  • Ensure that proper scouting is done in the farm to be able to establish the cropping up of pests and diseases.

  • Ensure that spray and scouting programs are given timely and handled accordingly.

  • Ensure crop protection against pests and diseases is done promptly and properly by observing and reported to the director.

  • Ensuring that the workers performance sheets are filled properly by supervisors on a weekly basis.

  • Ensure that spray operations systems are in good order. Any anomalies like leaks, dry and wet spots etc. are reported to the director.

  • Report any tears, breakages of the plastic and doors or destruction arising from occasional twisters or adverse weather conditions to the maintenance team.

  • Ensure that re-entry times are observed. Workers should be allowed in only after the crop is dry.

  • Facilitate the transport and storage of the biological Dudus and their distribution to the greenhouses.

  • To ensure that you act lawfully and comply with all lawful commands and directions given by duly authorized officers.

  • Always promote and safeguard the interests of the company without compromise.

    Key Requirements Skills, experience and qualification

  • Lowest level of education diploma in agriculture/horticulture or management related course.

  • Experience: knowledge in agriculture/horticulture, trainable and open to work.

  • Age 28 years and above

  • Excellent communication skills especially in English
