  • The Chief of Party (COP) is responsible for the overall management and operations of the project and is the key liaison with USAID. S/he supervises project implementation and ensures the project meets its goals and reporting requirements. The COP takes a leadership role in coordination among USAID and key stakeholders and other implementing partners. The COP position requires political savvy, as s/he interacts with numerous GoK institutions and senior-level national and county-level government officials.

  • S/he will coordinate and act as the primary project contact person and key liaison with USAID, ensuring the project is represented in national technical, policy, and planning forums with the donor, government, key stakeholders and implementing partners.

  • The COP position requires political savvy, as s/he interacts with numerous GoK institutions and senior-level national and county-level government officials.

    At a minimum, the COP will have:

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, public health, medicine, management, business administration, or a related field

  • Ten years of experience in a senior management role leading complex public health and or technical service delivery programs of similar scope and dollar value.

  • At least ten years of demonstrated technical experience as senior staff in at least two of the following areas TB,
    HIV, health systems strengthening; M&E; and operations research.

  • Seven years of demonstrated experience in partnership building, especially with government representatives, donors, the private sector, and local community organizations.

  • Experience in senior positions in HIV and AIDS in Kenya will be an added advantage.
