  • Our client is a leading manufacturer and importer of office furniture and solutions.

  • They seek to hire a Head of Sales to lead the development, launch and scaling up of this new business unit.

  • The incumbent will be responsible for the short- and long-term strategy, product development, operational execution, team development and culture, and delivering on financial results.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Co-create and guide all short-term and long-term strategic direction for the new business unit.

  • Lead the research and development of the business plan, using an understanding of the company’s core operations, competitive advantages, and goals to provide direction on how to structure, run, and grow the business.

  • Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments.

  • Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal /external support and driving collaboration. Organize and execute the creation of key brands literature such as, point of sale (POS), eSpecs, trade/sales product presentations, product catalogs and brochures.

  • Analyze customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.

  • Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics

  • Partner with email, performance marketing and web teams to design, test and evolve lead nurturing tactics.

  • Support and guide product development and innovation based on market research and customer feedback.

  • Identify and develop effective route-to-market sales and distribution strategies and channel partners.

  • Set and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and sales targets. Drive growth and sales effectiveness through rigorous and systematic analysis of sales performance, translating insights into concrete sales tactics.

  • Passionately and tirelessly work to build a world-class and outstanding customer experience.

  • Achieve or exceed established KPI’s with regards to customer facing metrics such as service levels and internal metrics such as efficiencies and budgets.

  • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning. Test and refine new operational strategies that support efficiency, scale and best-in-class business processes.

  • Monitor performance, product KPIs and quality control with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed; prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting where required.

  • Maintain and
    build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Determine staffing needs and business unit structure; create and manage a high-caliber and passionate team, as well as develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and team members within the broader organization.

  • Guide budget and investment decisions and process to ensure short term cash flow needs as well as long term financial objectives.

  • Deliver revenue and profit expectations, and prepare period reporting.

  • Set and achieve short (3-6 month), mid (6-24 month) and long (2-5 year) term objectives.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution; MBA or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating within a high-growth company with over 2 years’ experience in management consulting or investment banking/PE/VC/social enterprises

  • Ladies are encouraged to apply

  • Applicants with experience working with social enterprise preferred

  • Early-stage startup leadership experience is a plus.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent experience driving sales and brand development activities.

  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to track and drive financial results.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of success building partnerships and managing internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and balance thought with action while getting the most out of limited resources.

  • Passionate, focused and energetic nature with the ability to drive and achieve results.

    NB:

  • Experience in large distribution companies is a MUST

  • Applicants with experience working with social enterprise preferred

  • MUST have B2C experience
