Holy Cross Catholic International Laboratory Technician Jobs in Kenya; The successful candidate will support our vibrant science department. He/she will be the backbone of our practical science experiments, managing resources and preparing experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Responsibilities

Experiment Preparation & Support: Prepare, set up, and dismantle apparatus, chemical solutions, and biological materials required for daily practical lessons and examinations across all three sciences.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations.

Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor, order, and maintain stock levels of chemicals, reagents, live specimens, and physics equipment. Conduct annual audits of laboratory assets.

Equipment Maintenance: Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment. Arrange for specialist repairs when necessary.

Waste Management: Ensure safe and legal disposal of chemical and biological hazardous waste.

Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with science teachers to try new experiments, provide technical advice, and occasionally assist students during practical sessions.

Guide students on proper laboratory conduct and safety practices when required.

Required Skills/Characteristics

Degree or Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Applied Sciences, Education Science, or a related field.

A minimum of 3 years of active experience working as a laboratory technician, preferably in an educational or research institution.

Excellent organizational and time‑management skills to handle overlapping requests from different science disciplines.

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teaching staff and students.

Ability to work independently and maintain high standards of accuracy and safety.
