HelpAge International Africa Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Manager Jobs in Ethiopia;Lead day‑to‑day opportunity development, donor cultivation and partnership engagement for the Africa Ageing Conference. Develop funding pipeline, investment case, donor cultivation strategy and external partnerships to support successful delivery and long‑term impact. Contribute to wider resource mobilisation priorities emerging from the Africa Plan and Africa Coordination Mechanism.
Responsibilities
Resource Mobilisation & Funding Development
Develop and implement Africa Ageing Conference resource mobilisation plan.
Maintain prioritised pipeline of funding, sponsorship and in‑kind opportunities.
Produce investment propositions, concept notes, proposals and sponsorship packages.
Progress opportunities from research to proposal and stewardship.
Strategic Partnerships & External Engagement
Cultivate relationships with funders, sponsors, network members and partners.
Represent HelpAge in approved external engagements.
Identify partnership opportunities aligned with Conference and Africa Plan.
Africa Ageing Conference
Lead fundraising and partnership workstream for the Conference.
Coordinate inputs with Conference Planning Team.
Steward funders, sponsors and partners before, during and after the event.
Coordination & Internal Collaboration
Align activity with organisational priorities and fundraising processes.
Coordinate technical, financial, communications and due diligence inputs.
Maintain records and report on pipeline progress, risks and decisions.
Wider Africa Resource Mobilisation
Contribute to resource mobilisation for Africa Plan priorities.
Use Conference relationships to identify wider
opportunities.
Assess emerging funding opportunities and advise on strategic fit.
Requirements
Essential
Degree or equivalent in relevant field.
Substantial experience in fundraising, partnerships, sponsorship or donor engagement.
Experience managing funding pipelines and progressing prospects.
Experience supporting major conferences, events or campaigns.
Strong prospect research and analysis skills.
Ability to produce compelling investment propositions and partner communications.
Confidence engaging funders and senior stakeholders independently.
Experience with civil society networks or multi‑partner coalitions.
Excellent written communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple relationships across countries and time zones.
Fluency in English.
Desirable
Knowledge of AU, RECs or UN coordination structures.
Experience securing support from institutional donors, foundations or corporate partners in Africa.
Knowledge of ageing, demographic change, health, social protection, human rights or inclusive development.
Experience with sponsorship, roundtables or collaborative funding models.
French, Portuguese or Arabic language skills.
