Health Strat Project Officer – Care & Treatment, TB and Quality Jobs in Kakamega Kenya


Health Strat is a leading Kenyan, public health organization that designs and delivers impactful 360° health system strengthening solutions that are applicable to low and middle-income countries.

Job Purpose:

  • In collaboration with the regional team and the County Health Management Teams, ensure
    the provision of high quality health services in TB/HIV in line with national policies and
    guidelines and offer support to site level service providers to achieve the same.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Clinical Service Provision

  • Provide TB and care and treatment services in health facilities in the respective sub
    counties
  • Ensure continuity of clinical service provision at the facilities in the region and
    compliance with national policies and guidelines.
  • Work with facility in-charges to strengthen and monitor clinical consultation and
    referral systems for TB and HIV
  • Work with the health service providers and the regional team to develop messages and strategies for community mobilization for HIV and TB services

    Reporting

  • Develop and submit regular activity reports
  • Strengthen the collection, collation and timely submission of monthly program
    reports (including TB and HIV care and treatment at the sites in the region
  • Promote data demand and information use (DDIU)
    Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Establish, strengthen and support quality improvement teams at facilities
  • Work with facility teams to implement and disseminate small tests of change

    Capacity Building

  • Provide guidance, mentorship and continuing education in TB and HIV to service
    providers in supported facilities in the region
  • Identify training gaps among facility-level service providers and recommend relevant
    training programs

    Program Management

  • Develop and strengthen program systems to ensure provision of high quality and
    accessible TB and HIV prevention, care and treatment services in the support health
    facilities.
  • Advice the regional team lead on gaps and opportunities identified in the course of
    program implementation

    Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution or equivalent
  • Higher diploma or bachelor degree in related field (added advantage)
  • Registration and valid practice license from the respective Regulatory Body as relevant

    Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in providing clinical TB and HIV care and treatment service
  • At least 1 year experience working as a clinical mentor in TB/HIV care, being a regional
    mentor will be an added advantage
  • Practice within County Health Facilities will be an added advantage.
  • Clinical leadership in a TB/HIV program
