  • Health Promotion International (HPI) is a medical services provision company providing services in Uganda. HPI is looking for a highly qualified, experienced HIV/AIDS Project Officer for one of her projects undertaken in Hoima, effective 01st December, 2020.

    Roles

    • Project Officer-HIV and AIDS will implement HIV and AIDS risk management activities and ensure that implementation of activities is in line with the approved project work plan. These activities will among others include HIV and AIDS sensitizations, HCT/Treatment outreaches, following upon emerging cases of risks related to the project and ensuring that the HIV and AIDS management plans of the contractors are effectively implemented.

    • Accountable for the day to day administrative functions of the field office. Carry out this function with high commitment, integrity, transparency, trust in conformity with the values of HPI Ltd.

    • Identify and utilise opportunities for collaboration through networks and building relationships.

    • Increase visibility of HPI Ltd at district and community levels.

    • Collect and analyse relevant health statistics; prepare data and periodic reports .

    • Develop working networks and partnerships in the subject area; to ensure proper coordination in common development efforts;

    • Develop concept notes and budgets for the planned activities, ensuring timely accountability and reporting in line with the HPI cycle.

    • Represent and participate in scheduled meetings at work site, district foras and HPI.

    Competencies

    • Knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support.

    • Takes responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives
    and ensuring the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work.

    • Good communication skills to liaise negotiate and advocate with key stakeholders,

    • Proven ability in working in a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural team.

    • Takes ownership of all responsibilities and honours commitments;

    • Client Focus and considers all those to whom services are provided to be “clients” and seeks to see things from clients’ point of view and represent HPI well at all time.

    • Good Computer and report writing skills.

    • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision

    Qualification

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any Health-related discipline like Medicine, Public Health, Nursing or Community Health among others. Should have a minimum of 3 years of implementing HIV/AIDS programs at community level. No track of criminal record and she/he should be willing to stay in the community (Buliisa or Hoima or Kikuube) during the project period.
