HCS Affiliates Group Field Operations Engineer - Transmission/GSM -Western ,Central & Eastern Jobs in Kenya;The Field Operations Engineer – Transmission/GSM will perform maintenance and operations activities within the assigned area, ensuring service quality and continuity as per KPIs and within budgeted costs.
The role also involves executing and following up on network extensions, detecting dysfunctions in network elements, and proposing improvement actions.

Key Responsibilities

Attend to equipment faults logged in through the trouble ticket (TT) system in compliance with corrective maintenance KPIs.

Perform preventive routine maintenance to ensure consistent equipment and environs health checks.

Coordinate with Support and NMC teams while analysing fault incidents to ensure accurate and timely correction, with clear communication.

Propose improvement actions for the network structure.

Accurately carry out preventive maintenance programs and prepare reports.

Jointly perform new site commissioning tests with equipment vendors, accepting only links/sites that meet engineering standards and factory specifications.

Compile and submit reports on all maintenance matters and attend daily evaluation meetings.

Establish and document causes of link

failures by filling RCA forms and producing evidence when required.

Principal Outputs

Achievement of performance KPIs.

Ensure network availability of >99.60%.

Achieve 80% of TTs within SLA.

Ensure network quality with packet loss of <0.05%.

Achieve 90% of planned work first time.

Qualifications – Academic & Professional

Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication.

Lean Six Sigma – Yellow Belt.

CCNA Certification.

Valid Driving License.

Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience in transmissions network maintenance.

Network Management Systems.

Radio rigging.

Knowledge of GSM 2G/3G/4G architecture.

Good understanding of BSS/transmission technology.

Microsoft Office proficiency.

Customer focus, planning, organizing, and troubleshooting skills.
