Handicap International - Humanity & Inclusion Facility Officer - Dadaab Jobs in Kenya; Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Facility Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of logistics and facility support services to HI personnel in Dadaab. Acting as the primary point of contact for the Logistics Manager, the Facility Officer proactively identifies issues within their scope of responsibility and recommends practical solutions.

The Facility Officer ensures optimal management of equipment, including maintenance and repair schedules, and plays a key role in rolling out HI’s logistics standards. The Officer also contributes to the phased reorganization of HI’s field operations as part of the ROOTS project.

Duties & Responsibilities

Your Mission

  • Participate in definition of logistics section of StratOp and implement facilities management action plan

  • Contribute to drafting, revision, and implementation of Operational Strategy (StratOp)

  • Produce and update risk map; propose and implement mitigation measures

  • Produce incident reports within sphere of responsibility

  • Compile data in facilities management dashboard

    Deploy HI Standards

  • Apply HI standards for policy, processes, and tools

  • Adapt and contextualize standards to meet local conditions and regulations

  • Implement internal control in fields of activity

  • Apply internal rules and donor requirements

    Operational Implementation of Logistics

  • Participate in logistics context analysis

  • Identify material resources necessary for project feasibility

  • Plan means for
    optimal equipment management

  • Evaluate and adjust resources distribution according to needs

  • Implement storage of archives or transmission to HQ

  • Manage return/donation of material and provide data for financial reports

    Facilitation of Profession Sector

  • Contribute to facilitation of profession sector in geographical area

    Emergency Preparedness and Response

  • Contribute to emergency preparedness actions and adapt work modality during emergencies

    Job Requirements

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field

  • Professional certifications in Supply Chain (CIPS) or Facility Management are an advantage

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Proven experience in community/home-based rehabilitation, functional assessments, and caregiver support

  • Previous experience in humanitarian/NGO setting, remote or hardship locations desirable

    Technical Competencies

  • Facility management of office spaces, guesthouses, and utilities

  • Knowledge of scheduling repairs and preventive maintenance for generators, vehicles, and IT/office equipment

  • Understanding of basic fire safety protocols and first aid measures

    Core Skills

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and facilitation abilities

  • Strong mentorship and coaching skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili
