Job Description

HiH EA is seeking to fill the following vacancies and invites applications from suitably qualified individuals who will undergo a selection process to identify the suitable candidates for the respective positions.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen HiH EA’s institutional knowledge and profile in response to responsible waste management practices through dissemination of research and best practices.
  • Support the introduction of new and innovative methodologies into HiH EA’s program to improve the support provided to members on ecological agriculture, climate change adaptation, low-carbon energy and production solutions, and natural resource management for mitigation of environmental degradation.
  • Support the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to develop a strong M&E framework with relevant indicators and processes for measurement of improved environmental sensitization/conservation, adaptation to climate change, mitigation of local environmental degradation, improved sustainable agricultural practices, and trends in individual and aggregate agricultural performance in terms of yields/profits.
  • Support the creation of linkages and partnerships with relevant national institutions and international institutions to facilitate the channeling of cutting-edge practical expertise to the members.
  • Support the revision of HiH EA’s training manuals to accommodate new methodologies, processes, technologies and the solid M&E frameworks on waste management, environmental conservation and climate resilient practices.
  • Responsible for planning and development of a sustainable ecological projects and the education of community members on their rights and responsibilities in regards to waste management and its impact on environmental degradation.
  • Ensure the project complies with statutory regulations by assisting members and Community Based Organizations acquire environmental certification.
  • Build capacity of HiH EA’s staff to implement the revised training manuals, disseminate best practices and ensure a wide adoption of the new, environmentally friendly and climate smart techniques among HiH EA’s members;
  • Supervise, train and coach staff on aspects of climate change entrepreneurship and Waste management
  • Conduct performance reviews and goal-setting meetings for project staff.
  • Conduct internal evaluations, disseminate learning and best practices to ensure that HiH EA’s revised support is being successfully implemented and generate positive results and impact.
  • Support fundraising team in HiH EA, HiH International and HiH Sweden to develop high quality proposals to attract funding in this area.
  • Ensure Certification of the Green Enterprises by relevant authorities. Specifications Bachelor of science Degree In Environmental Science, Ecological Science, Environmental Conservation or allied discipline; Experience within a similar position or in promoting responsible Environmental Conservation, Climate Change Adaptation/mitigation. Demonstrable experience in project management will be an advantage Proven track-record of conducting research, mapping, reporting and analysis;
  • Experience in training/capacity building Leadership experience, either professional or non-professional.

    Hand in Hand Eastern Africa Accounts Assistant-Payroll Jobs

    Responsibilities

  • Generate accurate and timely monthly payment vouchers for statutory deductions such as PAYE, NSSF, LAPF, SDL, WCF, etc. and other authorized statutory deductions in Tanzania.
  • Ensure timely submission of deductions to relevant authorities and beneficiaries in compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and organize the
    Semi-annual and monthly Tax returns and reports and ensure timely submission the authorities. Check and ensure accuracy of final balances and payment of final dues.
  • Manage the payroll runs and comparison of successive periods and document the differences based on authorized changes within the pay period.
  • Manage and maintain gratuity records, pension schedules, insurance deductions, savings, loan recoveries and reconciliations necessary for payroll processing and reports.
  • Review and reconcile the payroll bank accounts and all other payroll related balance sheet accounts Assist in creation and maintenance of staff ledgers and other accounts for advances and other related accounts. Ensure timely and accurate posting to the general ledger of all payroll related expenses.
  • Work with internal and external auditors for timely conclusion of payroll audits and to follow up recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly payroll cost analysis and related budget monitoring reports.
  • Generate remuneration statistics for authorized surveys and stake holder reports Generate and ensure timely distribution of monthly pay slips and payroll confirmations. ·
  • Any other official assignment issued by the supervisor.

    Qualifications

  • CPA Part II or higher
  • 1 years’ experience in Accounting and specifically practicing Payroll accounting
  • Knowledge and experience in Tanzania Laws and statutory deductions would be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in the use of computerized accounting systems and Microsoft suite packages
  • Good and current knowledge of Tax and Statutory deduction regulations
  • Meticulousness, confidentiality and attention for details
  • A self-starter working with minimal supervision and with ability to work within deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to commit to the HIH EA’s vision, mission and values

  • Undertake outreach and promotion through Group formation and awareness Market and promote HIH EA as an organization and its products and services.
  • Work with rural communities and groups within the area of operation Undertake groups training
  • Liaise and collaborate with HIH EA partners on the ground for advancement of mutual goals
  • Provide daily reports on individual portfolio

    Qualifications

  • Fresh graduates from Government recognized institutions with a minimum of Diploma in the field of Agriculture, Agro-forestry, Co-operative, Micro Finance, Marketing, Business Management or Administration, or Commerce.
  • Willingness to relocate and work in the HIH EA operational areas
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle Ability and willingness to commit to the HIH EA’s vision, mission and values
  • Ability to fit in and work with diverse cultures Innovativeness and creativity in solving problems and generating solutions Good communication and interpersonal skills Passion to work with and amongst marginalized rural communities.
