Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a talented Intern to support advocacy work at the Africa Area Office. The nature of the job is hybrid. The Intern will report to the Africa Policy and Advocacy Manager.

Working time: 40 hours per week (flexible)

Duration: Six Months with possibility of extension

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Desk research on affordable housing and on various AU policies

  • Help organize events (workshops, conferences)

  • Attend online/in-person conferences and workshops and summarize key points

  • Administrative tasks

  • Writing blogs on advocacy related interventions

    Required:

  • Must be a university student, pursing degree in sociology, anthropology, public policy, international relations, development studies.

  • Completed bachelor’s degree is an advantage

  • Openness to learn and ability to process information

  • Excellent command of English, especially in writing, French would be an added advantage.

  • Interest in topics of housing/advocacy/sociology/EU grants/ Land

  • Possess professional maturity and sensitivity to different cultures

  • Must be computer literate and experience using MS packages including MS Outlook and Teams.

  • Possess a Certificate of good conduct

  • Demonstrate a commitment to HFHI values and vision
