Gruppo per le Relazioni Transculturali Country Operations Coordinator Jobs in Kenya; GRT is seeking a proactive and reliable Country Operations Coordinator to support the day-to-day coordination and operational follow-up of its Kenya programme.The position ensures strong in-country coordination, continuity of activities, operational follow-up, and communication with donors, teams, partners, consultants, authorities, suppliers, and service providers.

  • Strategic oversight, donor engagement, programme direction, procurement oversight, compliance supervision, and key operational management functions remain under GRT HQ.

  • The Country Operations Coordinator supports implementation and coordination of country-level activities and serves as the main in-country focal point for operational continuity, logistical coordination, and procurement follow-up.

    Purpose of the Position

  • Support effective implementation of GRT activities in Kenya by ensuring timely operational coordination, procurement and logistical follow-up, stakeholder communication, and day-to-day implementation support.

  • Facilitate coordination, ensure operational continuity, support communication between different actors, and address practical implementation challenges under HQ guidance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Programme Implementation, Reporting, and Activity Support

  • Support programme teams in implementation and follow-up of project activities.

  • Monitor activity timelines, schedules, deliverables, and follow-up actions.

  • Coordinate logistical and operational support for trainings, workshops, meetings, field visits, assessments, and project activities.

  • Support communication with consultants, field teams, partners, and service providers.

  • Coordinate collection and consolidation of operational updates and data for reporting.

  • Prepare and submit internal and donor reporting inputs.

  • Monitor progress, deadlines, deliverables, and pending action points.

  • Coordinate project proposals and concept notes preparation.

  • Oversee organisation, quality control, and maintenance of programme documentation.

    Operations, Logistics, and Procurement Coordination

  • Support day-to-day operational coordination of GRT activities in Kenya.

  • Coordinate office-related administrative and logistical arrangements.

  • Support travel arrangements, accommodation, logistics, and field movement planning.

  • Coordinate procurement follow-up with suppliers, service providers, and consultants.

  • Support procurement processes and purchasing follow-up with HQ and finance teams.

  • Prepare and maintain procurement documentation in compliance with procedures.

  • Supervise filing and maintenance of operational and administrative documentation.

  • Monitor operational and logistical issues and escalate challenges to
    Regional Management.

  • Support operational planning and coordination with programme and finance teams.

    Liaison and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Participate in meetings with donors, partners, authorities, and stakeholders as delegated.

  • Provide operational updates to donors and external stakeholders when required.

  • Maintain professional relationships with donors, partners, consultants, and service providers.

  • Represent GRT in operational and coordination discussions in line with organisational guidance.

    Internal Communication and Organisational Support

  • Facilitate communication between field teams, consultants, management, finance staff, suppliers, and partners.

  • Support coordination of meetings, schedules, action points, and follow-up tasks.

  • Ensure timely sharing of operational information with GRT HQ.

  • Promote professional conduct and adherence to safeguarding, standards, and policies.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling organisational information.

    Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, International Relations, Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Procurement, Logistics, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in NGOs, INGOs, or humanitarian/development organisations.

  • Experience in operations, administration, procurement support, logistics, coordination, or programme support roles.

  • Familiarity with donor-funded projects and NGO operational environments.

  • Experience supporting procurement, supplier coordination, logistics, or purchasing processes.

  • Experience engaging with institutional stakeholders, partners, consultants, suppliers, or coordination platforms.

  • Strong organisational, coordination, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

  • Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Italian required.

    Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with NGO operational environments in Kenya.

  • Expertise in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Gender-based Violence, Child Protection, or Forced Migrations.

  • Understanding of donor-funded operational and procurement compliance environments.

  • Understanding of safeguarding and protection principles.

  • Experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.

  • Sense of humor.
