Job Vacancy:

  • Group Operations Manager

    Main purpose of job: Set up operational policies and systems with a view to close exiting gaps and develop these systems into proactive, flexible and responsive support functions.

    This is to ensure operational excellence and service by driving flawless execution across all departments and companies within the group.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    POLICIES AND PROCESSES

  • Assess existing processes with the aim of identifying operational gaps.
  • Develop and document operational systems, processes and policies including reporting structures, information flow, communication and business processes.
  • Follow through with implementation and adherence of set policies and procedures.
  • Develop internal control systems to determine if processes/systems are delivering results effectively and efficiently towards an investments oriented operations model and addressing any risks and performance gaps.
  • Continuously evaluating operational processes to enhance the efficiency and quality of deliverables.

    CHANGE MANAGEMENT

  • Responsible for communicating and developing a framework for cultural change, enabling the organization to do the best that it possibly can.
  • Leading and managing internal one-time undertakings meant to improve efficiency, help the company gain a competitive advantage or align business need with clients’ expectation.

    STRATEGY

  • Alongside company leads and departmental heads, contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging their practicality and any assumptions as appropriate.
  • Work with all departments to seamlessly integrate business ideas and concepts.

    BUDGET

  • In liaison with respective company heads, the Operations manager will prepare with the budgets that forecast revenues and expenses as well as continuously review it to identify variances.

    [COMPANY RESOURCES

    Ensure efficiency and effectiveness in company resource allocation.
    Monitor utilization and movement of company resources.

    COMPLIANCE

  • See to it that companies within the group comply with all government regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with the group policies.

    PEOPLE/TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Identify hiring gaps and make recommendations to the different companies on the same.
  • Foster teamwork & resolve operational issues
    between departments by taking charge in crisis situations.
  • Work with Human Resources to develop a program that will build organizational capabilities, ensuring that core competencies and organizational values are instilled.
  • Other duties and functions that may be assigned by management from time to time.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree, with at least a 2nd Class Upper Division is preferred in a business related field preferably Operations Management.
  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience, preferably in a Shared Services function in a leadership position, with 2 years in a management capacity.
  • Should have experience in operations management.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
  • Skills in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Understanding of all business functions, including investments, real estate, finance, operations, administration, human resources, marketing, legal and brand.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards.
  • Should be conversant with ISO standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with strong organizational and coordination skills; able to effectively establish optimal work schedules
  • Analytical, factual, and ability to look at situations from several points of view.
  • Able to drive initiatives and implement best practices in operations management
