GROOTS Kenya BOSA Operations Officer Jobs; The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective day‑to‑day management of Back Office Services Activity (BOSA), with responsibility for member services, credit administration, loan processing and recovery, financial and operational reporting, compliance and internal controls.

The position reports to the Central Management Committee (CMC) and works closely with the Supervisory Committee.

Key Responsibilities

BOSA Operations & Member Services

  • Oversee daily operations of BOSA, including member accounts, deposits and registers.

  • Process new member registrations and provide accurate account information.

  • Deliver responsive and professional customer service to grassroots women members.

  • Maintain accurate custody of member records and documentation.

    Credit & Loan Administration

  • Receive, appraise and vet loan applications per Credit Policy.

  • Ensure timely loan processing and disbursement.

  • Monitor loan portfolios, repayments and maintain credit records.

  • Track non‑performing loans and initiate recovery actions.

  • Monitor credit risk against policy and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide portfolio analysis and recommendations to CMC.

    Financial & Operational Reporting

  • Maintain books of accounts, perform reconciliations and prepare financial statements.

  • Present monthly and quarterly operational and financial reports to CMC.

  • Prepare for annual audits and coordinate documentation.

    Compliance, Risk & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with Co‑operative Societies Act, SASRA, Data Protection and tax laws.

  • Identify risks, implement internal controls and recommend mitigation measures.

  • Safeguard SACCO assets, member information and
    confidential records.

    Governance & Management Support

  • Implement CMC resolutions related to BOSA operations.

  • Support CMC and Supervisory Committee with reports and documentation.

  • Provide technical guidance on operational and credit matters.

    Systems Strengthening

  • Identify opportunities to improve SACCO processes and services.

  • Strengthen documentation, systems and procedures for efficiency.

  • Contribute to systems responsive to grassroots women members.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by SACCO leadership.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cooperative Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.

  • CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification.

  • 3–5 years’ hands‑on experience in SACCO operations, BOSA, credit administration, loan recovery or financial management.

  • Experience managing loan portfolios, credit appraisal and member services.

  • Familiarity with SACCO Core Banking Systems / ERP tools (e.g., NAVCentral).

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.

  • Knowledge of Co‑operative Societies Act, SASRA and regulatory frameworks.
