The proposed project’s overall objective is to contribute to supporting the governments in countries of origin along the main routes from Northern and Western Africa across the desert and the Mediterranean to promote more informed migration and more effective support to promote socioeconomic opportunities as part of Government of Italy’s strategy to address irregular migration and trafficking in human beings. Specifically, the project raises awareness on socio-economic opportunities and promotes empowerment as alternatives to irregular migration.
