Global Health Uganda Psychiatric Clinical Officer Jobs

Global Health Uganda (GHU) is a registered not-for-profit, limited liability company with the mission to promote child health by conducting and facilitating quality and relevant research in child health, neurodevelopment and interventions.

GHU is inviting applications for the following positions for the MIND STUDY based in Jinja.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtaining informed consent from caregivers of eligible patients as per protocol, in accordance with GCP and HSP principles.

• Counsel and explain study procedures to the caregivers of study participants.

• Carry out psychiatry assessments on study participants.

• Complete study CRFs, correctly and accurately in compliance with study procedures / SOPs and GCP standards.

• Obtaining of appropriate samples/specimens from study participants as per protocol and ensuring that the samples are sent to the appropriate labs.

• Ensure study participant safety and privacy, and data integrity and confidentiality.

• Provide emergency nursing care for study participants as per protocol.

Skills and Person specifications

• The ideal candidate should possess at least a Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry from a recognized institution.

• Experience in research work is an added advantage.

• MUST be fluent in Lusoga and other local languages used in the area.

• Should have done a

form of GCP with an updated certificate.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Personal integrity, flexible attitude and proactive.

• Excellent organization and planning skills with ability to handle work in an efficient manner.
