The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition has a new senior associate level opportunity within its Supply Chains for Nutritious Foods (SCNF) cluster. The role will oversee the design and implementation of technical assistance services to small and medium sized enterprises.

This role will be delivered from our office in Nairobi, Kenya.

About GAIN

GAIN is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people.

In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition.

About the role

You will be joining a growing team in Kenya, working closely with colleagues around the globe. Reporting to the Director of SCNF, you will be the focal point for GAIN's technical assistance offerings; designing procedures, developing SOPs and overseeing a roster of services providers. Role specifics include;

Developing documented procedures, monitoring mechanisms and feedback forms for the provision of technical assistance

Identifying and performing due diligence on a roster of service providers

Oversee implementation of project plans
Work with local

partners to build capacity

About you

You will have experience related to food supply chains, SME's, process control and improvements. In particular, you will bring to this role;

Expertise in business development services to SME's

Ability to use initiative

Ability to operate within the public and private sectors to effectively liaise with food enterprises, development agencies and governments at a senior level

An understanding of both product and commercial decision-making processes
