Job Description

Support skills enhancement of youth and women in catchments of Agro-Industrial Parks in Baeker/Humera (from Mekelle) by
Coordinating the implementation of short and long-term trainings

Strengthening partners (educational institutions as well as private business) capacity to implement long- and short-term trainings

Developing and implementing formats for industry cooperation with educational institutions

Conceptualizing incubation centers in strong cooperation with the Industrial Parks Development Cooperations in Baker

Strengthening partners (educational institutions as well as private business) capacity to implement incubator and employment related services for the agro industry parks:

Set-up incubations centers at the Industrial parks incl. network forming and capacity development of the centers

Coordination of career services for women and youth in the catchment areas

Fostering the networks between relevant stakeholders in the parks and catchment area, especially private companies and education institutions

Steering and coordinating with consultants and other sub-contractors for the implementation of the action

Take a lead in the design and organization of events such as workshops, trainings, conferences or fairs

Implementing other project activities in order to reach the project’s objectives – areas of involvement will be agreed upon as needed

2. Support all general project management activities such as:

Facilitate learnings

and contribute to knowledge management

Implement the EU visibility and communication strategy in your respective location

Support monitoring activities

Work in close coordination with a team of local and international experts

Preparation of concepts, strategies and operational plans for current and follow-on phase of the project

3. Implement tasks under the technical and disciplinary supervision of the Component Manager of STEP

Required Candidate: One per Location

Job Requirements

Qualification Required & Experience

University Degree: M. A/M.sc in (agro-)processing/(agro-)economics/(agro-) business/(agro-) engineering or related

8 years professional experience in private sector (e.g. Engineering, Capacity Development, Entrepreneurship, Medium and Small Enterprise support) or working with/for the private sector (e.g. in private sector development projects, consultancy, etc.)

Work experience in an international organization, preferred European development agency

Vast understanding of the agro-business sector including value chains and agro-economics

Strong ability for capacity building and private sector support

Access to local and sector specific networks and excellent reputation

Experience in working with industrial parks is an asset

Excellent English (C1) and Amharic (written and spoken), including report writing in English

Added value: Training/teaching experience
