Job Description

GITEC-IGIP GmbH, a leading and renowned German consulting company with a long-standing record in the international development business, requires services of a national expert (m/f) from Ethiopia to work full time in Addis Ababa, with possible visits to other regions.

Tasks and responsibilities:

The expert will act as focal point and liaison officer between the European Union and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ethiopia and the Chemicals and Construction Inputs Industry Development Institute (MoTI/CCIIDI), s/he will be in charge of coordinating and facilitating the project's environment and industry related activities. In particular s/he will likely based in the MoTI and working in close coordination with the CCIIDI.

Working Hours:

Full time, based in the Ministry of Trade and Industry

Duration:

36 months, starting with December 2019 (estimation)

Job Requirements

Qualifications and skills

Master Degree or equivalent in Industry or Energy or Engineering (or other equivalent scientific or technical area relevant to the expected services).

Proficiency in English, knowledge of Amharic oral and written will be an asset.

Excellent

knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point

Knowledge of IPCC 2006 Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) methodologies and/or software will be an asset.

General professional experience

At least 5 years working experience in projects related to energy efficiency.

Specific knowledge in energy efficiency in the Industry will be an asset.

Specific professional experience

At least 1 year working experience in project coordination/management.

Experience in acting as a technical expert, providing on-the-job support to the intended beneficiary institutions or companies, would be an asset.

Expert must be independent and free from conflicts of interest in the responsibilities they take on.
