The function of the job

The manager of the feed processing industry is responsible for the operations manager to ensure the supply of raw materials that are reliable in quality in order to be able to produce quality animal feed; Monitoring feed input and manufactured feed inventory, monitoring the industry's day-to-day feed production and sales trends, maintaining strengths and correcting gaps, reports the industry's work activities to the Operations Manager; Monitors the working conditions of the working units under him every time, evaluates their performance, and offers suggestions for improvement; Provides an up-to-date report to the Operations Manager regarding the work activities in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifies issues and needs related to the feed processing industry, analyzes them in a way that is conducive to implementation.

  • Plans, executes, and submits a performance report for the industrial operations.

  • Monitors the production process, quality and distribution of the feed produced by the industry.
    Works diligently to ensure timely procurement of raw materials.

  • Prepares viable projects related to animal fodder production and other related projects and presents them to the operations manager.

  • Designs a strategy to increase the market share in the country by producing high-quality fodder and increases the market share.

  • Works diligently to correct existing gaps based on feedback.

  • Develops systems to coordinate and coordinate work units in the industry and organizes and manages work in a plan.

  • Designing and implementing strategies that increase the production and profitability of the industry.

  • Works in coordination with other entities to increase technology transfer, product availability and profitability.

  • The feed industry is focused on customer service.

  • Finding a source of finance for the expansion of companies and the implementation of projects.

  • Working with other industry executives and professionals in a spirit of sincerity and cooperation.

  • The operations manager provides an up-to-date report on the work activity in the sector.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

  • Responsible for the achievement of agreed budget

  • Develop a site structure which enables the production and delivery of feed of consistently satisfactory quality and the requirements of health and safety and environmental legislation/policy to be met at minimum cost.

  • Improve leadership,
    team building and empowerment skills of individual managers.

  • Continued compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental Law and Policy

  • Demonstrate leadership and motivation together with the creation of a team that readily accepts responsibility and ownership.

  • Maximize finished product quality standards and consistency.

  • Maintain hygiene standards and the implementations of all procedures.

  • Ensure an adequate maintenance program is devised and implemented.

  • Manage the site stock control and variances.

  • Maintain ERP systems to Company requirements.

  • Review production records

  • Schedule feed production

  • Keep inventory of feed ingredients and order as needed.

  • Test and review feed/grain quality

  • Schedule employee shifts and keep track of employee time.

  • Handle customer questions and complaints

  • Evaluate operating procedures.

  • Set quality assurance standards.

  • Prepare and monitor monthly, quarterly and yearly budgets.

  • Stay up to date on new technology and ways to make process improvements.

  • Train new employees and provide development opportunities.

  • Ensure all employees are trained on safety and continue to stay up to date.

  • Maintain filling equipment and other equipment needed to perform duties.

    Additional desirable skills and characteristics

  • Having additional knowledge and skills related to the position;

  • Basic computer knowledge;

  • Short training certificate in animal fodder preparation,

  • Has a sense of teamwork;

  • Ability to coordinate and manage various tasks, with good work ethic; Ready to accept and implement change procedures;

  • Free of any previous disciplinary issues;

  • Ready and committed to accept the responsibilities given to them and turn them into results;

  • Has good performance and discipline in previous jobs.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience

  • Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine with six (6) years of demonstrated experience

  • Doctoral degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine with tow (2) years of demonstrated experience
