Purpose of the JobTo ensure efficient and smooth operation within the GIG vision 2016 by designing effective Finance and Corporate Services systems, policies and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, direct, and coordinates risk, financial and investment programs of GIG investments to control risks and losses.
Direct and coordinate activities to implement the institution policies, procedures, and practices concerning financial and investment activities
Direct the overall activities of investment and financial planning and strategy.
Partner and engage with senior business leaders to deliver insightful financial and business reporting and analysis, highlight business issues and risks and drive profitability improvement across the GIG.
Develop the financial and investment policies and procedures for the department Function and lead in their implementation and continuous review.
Review, approve and submit financial and investment reports to relevant organs.
Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, on-going performance dialogue and feedback on finance and investment issues.
Represent the Finance and investment Department in external relationships related with the Function.
Oversee the production and presentation of financial reports, budgets and projections, and provide advice and analysis for the management decision making.
Oversee that assets are properly acquired, depreciated, and disposed.
Monitor the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, financial reports, and special analysis reports.
Analyze and reporting on financial and investment performance.
Oversee audit and tax
functions.
Develop and implement accounting and investment policies.
Preparing forecasts and comprehensive budgets.
Train all the finance & investment department staff.
Review departmental budgets.
Assess, manage, and minimize risks on financial and investment projects.
Generic Duties of the Position
Prepare the Functions of financial work plans and monitor their execution.
Monitor the proper utilization of the overall budgets.
Identify the finance professional’s requirements of the Function and develop plan for meeting the requirements.
Develop the financial policies and procedures for the department Function and lead in their implementation and continuous review.
Review, approve and submit financial reports to relevant organs.
Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, on-going performance dialogue and feedback on finance issues.
Oversee the systematic identification of skill and competency requirements for the Function.
Represent the Finance Department in external relationships related with the Function.
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience
PHD in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related fields with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience out of which four (4) years at Senior Leadership level
OR
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related fields with ten (10) years of demonstrated experience out of which six (6) years at Senior Leadership level
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Business Administration or related fields with twelve (12) years of demonstrated experience out of which six (6) years at Senior Leadership level
