Support the development team in building and maintaining web applications, resolving defects quickly and maintaining a clean, reliable codebase.
Deliver well-defined development tasks under the guidance of senior developers while continuously growing technical skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Build and Maintain Features
Develop assigned features and bug fixes using Laravel, React, Next.js and C#.
Write clean, maintainable and readable code that follows established team standards.
Deliver assigned tasks on time with minimal rework following code reviews.
Test, Debug and Resolve Defects
Test developed solutions before submission.
Reproduce, investigate and resolve assigned software defects.
Ensure defects are fixed within agreed timelines and prevent recurrence.
Work with Databases and APIs
Write and optimize queries in MySQL and MongoDB databases.
Assist in API development and integration under guidance from senior developers.
Ensure database queries and integrations function correctly and pass review standards.
Collaborate and Learn
Participate in daily stand-ups, code reviews and team discussions.
Apply feedback received from senior developers and reviewers.
Collaborate with project managers, designers and testers to deliver project requirements.
Continuously improve code quality and development practices.
Support Existing Applications and Documentation
Handle routine application support and maintenance activities.
Update technical documentation whenever changes are made.
Resolve support requests within agreed timelines.
Key Performance Expectations and Milestones
First 30 Days
Set up the development environment.
Learn the codebase, development tools and team workflows.
Complete initial development tasks successfully.
By Day 90
Deliver assigned features independently with
minimal supervision.
Apply Git workflows and coding standards correctly.
By Month 6
Take ownership of small modules from development through deployment.
Deliver quality outputs with minimal defects.
By Month 12
Contribute to technical design discussions.
Require fewer review corrections.
Demonstrate readiness for progression to a mid-level software development role.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in software development.
Proficiency in PHP Laravel, C#, React and Next.js.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, APIs and software development best practices is an added advantage.
A portfolio of previous software development projects is highly desirable.
