  • G4S Cash Solutions has a vacancy for a Risk and Security Director - South Africa based in Centurion.

  • Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is responsible for the management and development of Security and Risk Management services to customers, in compliance with industry standards, legislation, company policies, processes and procedures.

  • The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which risk and security plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

    Main purpose of the position:

  • The management and development of Security & Risk Management services to customers, in compliance with industry standards, legislation, company policies, processes and procedures, to ensure the achievement of budgeted financial targets and business unit/product line growth.

    Key Performance Areas:

    Develop and cultivate strong relationships within customer base, industry and company​

  • Actively building networks with relevant decision makers in Government and law enforcement authorities

  • Develop strong and productive stakeholder relationships, demonstrating thought leadership with industry groups and clearly demonstrating an expert knowledge of the industry as well as the business.

    The effective management and oversight of risk and security requirements within the company

  • Develop a clear and coherent strategy for the Risk function that supports the business plan, and leads in its successful implementation

  • Ensure that investment is targeted to ensure maximum benefit in terms of protection and security of employees and assets of the company and its customers

  • Identify and implement risk management frameworks to mitigate risks and freedom to innovate.

  • Ensure that processes and policies are implemented that support the business in terms of risk mitigation.

  • Develop and maintain management information systems around risk reporting and compliance.

  • Maintain oversight on investigations within the company and corrective actions plans implemented by the
    team.

    The effective management and development of staff within the department

  • Develop a high performing team with technical expertise and operational awareness.

  • Build a culture of risk awareness across the business, to ensure individuals are equipped to make the right decisions.

  • Contribute to the strategic development of the company as a functional leader and member of the Executive team.

    The management and control of compliance to risk policy, legislation and industry standards

  • Lead regular reviews of security standards within the company, to ensure complete compliance with security requirements and procedures.

  • Provide leadership for the industry, representing interests at government and enterprise level.

  • Develop effective and influential relationships with the Business divisions and Group Insurance, leading to greater risk control and a reduction in losses and insurance premiums.

  • Build effective internal relationships to ensure an appropriate balance of business performance and risk mitigation

  • Review, audit and recommend changes around compliance and non-compliance matters within the business

    Health and Safety

  • Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.

  • Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks

  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people

  • Discuss all safety incidents on all levels

  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management

  • Attend safety education and refresher programmes

  • Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace

  • Distribute safety information as and when required

  • Wear protective clothing all the time where required

  • Strengthen business relationships and reputation

  • Commercial thinking regarding profit, loss and added client value

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualification in Security and Risk Management

  • 3-5 years of relevant security/risk commercial management experience

  • Sound experience at a senior management level

  • Law enforcement/military background preferred

  • Deep knowledge of South African Security and Health and Safety legislation
