Our client, a leading commercial bank operating in Uganda seeks to recruit competent banking professionals in managerial positions.

Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job

  • To develop and manage Corporate
  • Relationships effectively, protecting the Bank’s interest at all times.
  • He/she is responsible in conjunction for a portfolio of customers allocated to him/her and to the Superior, and supporting the Superior in the credit process and products/service sales including the daily management and monitoring of accounts.
  • To provide administrative support to the Customer in terms of paperwork, reports, corporate customer details, CAs, letters of offer, financial analysis for CAs, correspondence, and any other corporate matters/issues as needed by Head of Business, from time to time.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing for credible credit proposals to meet the set business targets as per KPI.
  • Responsible for the interface and support between the bank and the client or prospective clients.
  • Maintaining good customer relationship in order to ensure that customer needs are met and are in line with the strategic objectives of the bank.
  • Identifying and development of corporate business with emphasis on fee income generation, lending and trade finance.
  • Promote the bank’s range of services continuously
  • Customer relationship management on existing and potential customers for development of business.
  • Managing, monitoring, controlling, and being responsible for the assigned/developed corporate lending portfolio.
  • Preparing Credit call reports and recommending credit facilities to the appropriate final approval authority.
  • Arrange for or undertake when required analysis and interpretation of financial statements submitted by customers. Such analysis to be incorporated in the Credit application being submitted for approval.
  • Provide personal service to customers by visiting them (making calls) on the site and reporting work progress to the HOD
  • Review/preparation of Letters of Offer, Call Reports, and other official documentation.
  • Scrutinizing security documentation from customers.
  • Monitoring of existing facilities to ensure any security documentation e.g. Insurances, land rent and rates, audited accounts revaluations that needs to be renewed is done on time.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the bank’s policy and procedures on credit.
  • Monitoring of existing facilities to make sure they are up-to-date with repayments and if not, follow-up for payments.
  • Assist HOD with drafting correspondence and communications to customers.
  • Deal with customer queries over a range of
    credit matters and resolve to the satisfaction of customer.
  • Monitoring the TOD for Corporate accounts and liaising with the Branch on reasons for excess, e.t.c
  • Directing/assisting/preparing, submitting the weekly statistics and reports
  • Monitoring repayment schedule to ensure clearance on a monthly basis to ensure no arrears.
  • Ensuring corporate customer file is properly maintained and papers filed correctly.
  • Any other matters that may be assigned by management from time to time

    Skill Set

    Knowledge

  • An Honors degree in business related field from a recognized university
  • Financial Management and analytic skills.
  • Good word processing skills, strong verbal and written communication skills,
  • Computer literate.

    Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking in credit, Marketing or business.
  • Proven Relationship Management skills with customers.
  • Ability to handle a diverse loan portfolio, mix, complexity and customer base.
