Furniture Company Cost Estimator Jobs in Nairobi, Kenya

Our client, a leading furniture company is seeking to recruit a Cost Estimator.

Location:

Nairobi

Duties and Responsibilities

Make a budget at the start of every month. List the requirements of the different departments: payroll, carpentry, metal section, upholstery, advertising and office.

Cost new items and jobs as they come in. Requests for quotations should be entered as required.

Revising the cost of standard items as the price of materials and labour changes

Establishing a system whereby the production team can give feedback on time and materials spent on making products.

Making a comprehensive pricelist for all our standard items, to be revised as the cost of materials and labour changes.

Take orders from customers who phone in or who visit the factory. Discuss the order with the designer as necessary and produce a proforma invoice for the work.

In the case of special items, working with the designer to produce shop drawings for production in the factory. Preliminary drawings of special items, preferably in 3D, should be sent with the quotation for the approval of the customer

Keep in contact with the representatives of regular customers. Make new contacts with potential customers leaving the brochure of the company with them upon visiting them.

Keep the large database of past customers up-to-date on a daily basis. Old customers are to

be sent details of new products as they are produced.

Plan exhibitions decide what is to be displayed, how it is to be advertised and who is to be invited, from the customer database.

Follow the orders of any customer, through the factory and out for inspection and delivery.

Working with the designer, to produce brochures and advertisements to publicize our various products.

New products, introduced in our range, should be quickly posted on our website after discussion with the sales and design teams as to whether they are marketable

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
At least seven (3) years of experience in similar role

Results driven with accuracy and attention detail
