Purpose:
  • To ensure that all planned operational targets for deposition of tailings are met as per contractual obligation in time and good quality. Also ensure that there is good housekeeping and maintenance of tailings dam.

    Responsibilities :
  • Manage deposition targets and standards.
  • Execute deposition plans.
  • Plan & manage materials and labour.
  • Setting out work instructions.
  • Quality Assurance.
  • Maintaining discipline and standards of team work.
  • Liaising with the plant on a daily basis. Keeping and insuring, continuous and accurate record of all operational data and incidents.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe working environment in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act, Environmental and Waste management guidelines as well as the Mines Health and Safety Act.
  • Supervision of a labour force, including operational activities. This includes HR related issues as well as positive discipline.

    Requirements

    Skills, Qualities and Abilities
  • Must be able to communicate in English

    Qualifications:
  • Grade 12
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Supervision training will be advantageous
  • Legal liability training

    Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years in Mining Environment
  • Experience in spigot-ting in Tailings operations
  • Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety regulation &legals
  • Carry out daily operational plans and implementation
  • Ability to work without Supervision
