As well as the usual Director of Rooms responsibilities the following are unique to the Serengeti property;
Great guest interaction skills; will have good ability to host and represent the Lodge with Travel Agents / Incentive Agents and Journalists in order to continue to grow business levels.
As the Sales and Marketing department is not based on the site, the Director of Rooms plays a key role here.
As this is a live in position, the candidate would ideally posses the ability to spend time with the Lodge team out of work to drive and develop overall employee relations at the Lodge.
Ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys developing raw talent. There is a strong emphasis on helping local college graduates and all PC members play an active role in this.
As there is no Resort Manager role currently at the Lodge and in the absence of the General Manager, the Director of Rooms will oversee the day to day operations working closely alongside Food and Beverage and Engineering to ensure the operation runs smoothly, delivering consistently great guest experiences.
Based on the location, the ideal candidate would be single or able to relocate without family as no schooling or facilities for families.
There is Rest and Relaxation three times a year which and 28 days annual paid leave and an annual flight ticket to the home destination.
The combination of these would allow the candidate multiple opportunities to travel home to see family / friends.
