In Uganda, FH is operational in the Districts of Adjumani, Kitgum, Lamwo, Kween, Mbale, Namutumba and Amudat Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and Livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located in Kampala.

External Vacancy Announcement

FH/Uganda is actively seeking for qualified candidates committed to its Heartbeat and Corporate Strategy to fill the career opening on a rolling basis;

Position Type: Full Time National Staff

Location: Adjumani

Reports to: Project Coordinator- CYCC

Contract Length: 2 years (Fixed)

Start Date: December 2022- To be hired on rolling basis

Position Summary

Under the guidance and supervision of the project Coordinator, supervise all activities of the TAI project with main emphasis on children and Youth engagement, participation Initiative for community change project activities to ensure the project stays on budget, scope and time; Ensure the project is implemented in line with FH’s Youth and Adolescent technical program and strategy as well as the requirement of Children and Youth for community change (CYCC) approaches.

Provide undertake all correspondence works, training
and technical assistance to children, youth clubs, businesses, VSLAs and monitor project implementation. This includes conducting child surveys, assessments to determine training needs, mobilizing and sensitizing communities and stakeholders, forming participants’ groups, designing and conducting training of project participants in different thematic areas as per project requirements, mentorship, financial literacy and inclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key Result #1: Project planning and implementation

  • Key Result #2: Sponsor-child communication

  • Key Result #3: Child, Adolescent and youth participation

  • Key Result #4: Stakeholders Engagement, networking and collaboration

  • Key Result #4: Monitoring, reporting and documentation

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, agriculture, nutrition, Education, Social work, Community development, Development studies or another approved field of study from a recognized university.
  • A post graduate diploma in project planning and management, Early Child development is added advantage. required,
  • Typically, 4+ years of experience in program management, compliance, financial management experience. Experience working with private and institutional donors.
  • Non-profit ministry experience is a plus. Program leadership experience that includes risk and compliance management, financial, and opportunity development
  • Knowledge and experience in project cycle management is a plus
  • Experience implementing youth related programs/project is required.
  • Knowledge of the local language is an added advantage
