In Uganda, FH is operational in the Districts of Adjumani, Kitgum, Lamwo, Kween, Mbale, Namutumba and Amudat Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and Livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located in Kampala.

External Vacancy Announcement

FH/Uganda is actively seeking for qualified candidates committed to its Heartbeat and Corporate Strategy to fill the career opening on a rolling basis;

Position Type: Full Time National Staff

Location: Adjumani

Reports to: Project Officer- CYCC

Contract Length: 2 years (Fixed)

Start Date: December 2022- To be hired on rolling basis

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Project Officer, the Project Assistant will supervise all project activities; undertake correspondence work, together with project office and supported by sector heads provide training to caregivers, cascade volunteers, church leaders farmer groups, VSLAs and youths and children clubs and other project activities.

He/she will participate in conducting surveys and assessments
to determine training needs, mobilizing and sensitizing communities and stakeholders, forming beneficiary groups, designing and conducting training of beneficiaries in modern agriculture, business skills, essential Nutrition Practices, and post-harvest handling, supervision of the provision of seeds, tools, and other inputs.

Visit/follow up of crop development, creation of market linkages, and periodically advise/support beneficiaries to ensure successful implementation of the project according to proposal log frames.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key Result #2: Sponsor-child communication

  • Key Result #3: Gender, social inclusion, protection, environment & Biblical worldview related activities

  • Key Result #4: Coordination and reporting

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Education, Social work, Community development, Development studies or another approved field of study from a recognized university.
  • A higher diploma with Early Child development bias is added advantage.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ practical field experience working with communities and children in holistic, Social and spiritual Development
  • Experience in teaching/training adult learners, working with cascade groups as a model of program delivery
  • Knowledge of the local language is an added advantage
