Food For Education Manager, Food Safety and Quality Assurance Jobs in Kenya;The Manager, Food Safety & Quality Assurance provides operational leadership and day‑to‑day management of food safety and quality assurance across assigned regions. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role translates organizational food safety strategy into consistent execution, manages Food Safety Associates, drives FSMS implementation, oversees audits and certification readiness, and leads incident management and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Management
Manage, coach, and develop Food Safety Associates across regions.
Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and identify training needs.
Build succession plans and reinforce food safety culture.
FSMS Implementation & Operational Management
Drive implementation of FSMS across clusters.
Oversee HACCP, GMP, and PRPs execution.
Identify gaps and direct corrective actions.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety
Oversee quality standards for raw materials, processes, and final products.
Review inspection and audit findings; approve corrective actions.
Escalate high‑risk issues to Senior Manager.
Audit, Verification & Certification Support
Lead internal audit schedules and ensure closure of findings.
Support external audits, inspections, and certification assessments.
Ensure sampling, verification, and traceability programmes are executed.
Incident & Risk Management
Oversee investigations and root cause analysis of incidents.
Monitor corrective actions and escalate unresolved issues.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Consolidate performance data and inspection findings.
Present trends, risks, and improvement recommendations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Align Food Safety Associates with organizational strategy.
Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Lab teams.
Support rollout of food safety training programmes.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field; Master’s or certifications (HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC) an advantage.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in food safety, QA, or QC within FMCG/food manufacturing, with 2+ years in leadership.
Knowledge and experience in ISO 22000:2018 FSMS and HACCP.
Experience managing food safety operations across multiple sites.
Proven audit leadership and certification support experience.
Strong people management and team development skills.
Analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving ability.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing.
