Fluor Waste-Water Operator I Jobs in Uganda

Job Description

Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater treatment plant or ponds to control flow and processing of sewage.

Monitors controls and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate sewage flow.

Observes condition variations and interprets readings and tests results to determine effluent composition and load requirements.

Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes.

Maintains logs of operations and records meter and gauge readings.

May collect sewage sample, using dipper or bottle and conduct laboratory tests, using testing equipment, such as colorimeter.

Maintains cleanliness of containers and facilities and moves materials and supplies.

Assists other members of the work crew in performing assigned duties.

Communicates any issues and requirements with management as appropriate.

Follows established work procedures and safe work practices at all times.

Supervision Exercised

As directed by management, may supervise employees or subcontractor personnel in accordance with the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum.

Typical Requirements

Position may be

located in a wide variety of environments, from conventional indoor office work-space to project work-sites with harsh, working and living conditions.

To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.

Position requires the basic skills and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
