Fireside Engineering Group Lead Fiber Technician Jobs in Kenya

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Telecommunication, Fiber Optics or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of fiber network concepts.

  • Proficiency in fiber handling and maintenance.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and technical expertise.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field teams in fibre installation, maintenance and fault restoration.

  • Install and terminate fibre optic cables and network equipment.

  • Diagnose and resolve fibre network faults within SLA.

  • Ensure work meets technical and safety standards.

  • Observe Health & Safety guidelines and ensure quality assurance.

  • Supervise assistant technicians and submit job completion reports.

  • Educate clients on basic troubleshooting and answer fibre‑related queries.

  • Collaborate with technicians and NOC personnel; report to field supervisors.

  • Conduct fibre link faulting and resolution within SLA.

  • Perform fibre splicing, troubleshooting and testing with OTDR and optical tools.

  • Provide timely updates on fibre faults to NOC personnel.

  • Ensure excellent customer service to clients.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
