Role Overview

Overall, as a Compliance Associate, you are responsible for developing and implementing effective AML and KYC programs to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes.

The ideal person will monitor business processes and perform routine audits to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.

What you will be doing every day

  • Review of Merchant's KYC documents at the point of onboarding and during the course of the relationship to ensure all KYC documents are in place.

  • Ensure all KYC processes and procedures are in line with regulatory requirements and the guidelines outlined in Fincra’s KYC policy.

  • Conduct gap analysis and identify key KYC risks and recommend corresponding mitigants;
    Monitoring transactions for suspicious activity and reporting any suspicious transactions to the relevant authorities.

  • Conducting enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers, including politically exposed persons (PEPs).

  • Maintaining accurate records of customer due diligence and transaction monitoring activities.
    Prepare compliance reports for management and coordinate with various teams to evaluate all queries and resolutions.

  • Providing AML and KYC training to employees to ensure they understand their responsibilities and can identify potential money laundering activities.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of customer information to ensure it is accurate and up-to-date.

    Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a Compliance Officer in a B2B environment, financial services or banking industry.

  • Proven experience in AML Transaction Monitoring and KYC in a Fintech or commercial bank.

  • Knowledge of the financial crime regulatory frameworkTransaction Monitoring and KYC systems.
    Understanding the complex interactions of regulatory frameworks in the international finance space.

  • Knowledge of data protection regulatory framework and requirements

  • Experience in a high-growth team and/or startup experience.

  • Strong interpers
    onal, organizational, communications, analytical, and project management skills.
