Financial Manager (Manufacturing & Logistics) Job in Nairobi, Kenya

Our Client is a fast expanding organization with revenues that are growing by 25% annually. They currently employ approximately 2000 staff and they anticipate this number to increase by 25% annually over the next 3 to 5 years.



Its employees are integral to the success of the business and are highly valued. The company operates regionally in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda with plans to continue their expansion in the region.


Primary Purpose and Scope the Job: To provide a full financial and management accounting service to the different divisions and proactively manage accounting processes with business units thereby ensuring that financial ratios are met.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of division annual financial budget and profit forecasts
  • Preparation and publication of division monthly management accounts including executive summary and variances
  • Take ownership of division balance sheet integrity and working capital management
  • Proactive management of financial ratios and key performance ratios
  • Division cash-flow projection monitoring and reporting
  • Responsible for Bill of Materials, costing and yield analysis
  • Fleet management budgeting, accounting and variance analysis
  • Manage and account for the procurement and inventory processes, reconciliation between PO, delivery note, invoice, payment and stock consumption
  • Manage purchase price variance and report on the impact of variable purchase costs for raw materials
  • Manage production variances and report daily, weekly and monthly
  • Oversee stock takes and analysis of variances
  • Volume analysis
  • Control and management of division petty cash disbursements and reconciliation thereof
  • Participate in preparation of capital investment request, motivations and return on investment calculations
  • Prepare feasibility studies on various projects
    within the division as required
  • Review and implement internal controls within the business to mitigate risk
  • Establish solid understanding of manufacturing and logistics processes
  • Provide input to the annual strategic planning process
  • Trace and reconcile retail income sales information statistics and gross profit analysis
  • Preparation of year end audit files
  • Manage full compliance of Finance Division financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure financial data security
  • Successful implementation of the ERP
    Talent and people management of the commissary finance department
  • Key Accountabilities: Provide the key financial information for decision making

  • Financial and Cash flow budgeting
  • Variance analysis
  • Investment appraisal
  • Stock management
  • Talent and people management
  • Volume analysis
  • Successful implementation of the ERP
  • Reduction working capital cycle
  • Alignment of system BOM and actual production
  • Reduction in variances
  • Successful ERP implementation


    Job Specifications:


  • Experience: At least 5 years in manufacturing and logistics environment
