Finance Trust Bank was licensed as a Tier 1 Commercial Bank on 11th November, 2013, taking over the financial services business of Uganda Finance Trust Limited (MDI). Today Finance Trust Bank is a fully fledged commercial bank serving a clientele of over 400,000 depositors and over 23,000 borrowers, through a network of 35 branches country wide. The bank offers a variety of Products and services including; Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer services and Bills payments to its target market which comprises of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.
The Bank is seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated, result oriented professional to fill the following positions;
Infrastructure & Server Administrator
The position reports administratively to the Manager Networks & Infrastructure.
Role of the job
This role is responsible for the proper monitoring and maintenance of FTB computer systems, hardware and communications infrastructure.
Key Result Areas
Proper maintenance of user workstations (file, print, e-mail) infrastructure, their upgrades, capacity planning and update the IT assets inventory regularly.
Ensure proper functionality of ICT infrastructure and systems.
Provide technical specifications for user workstations and configure all new workstations.
Effectively track movement of hardware using equipment movement forms.
Evaluate user hardware needs and provide support to users on peripherals, printer configuration, management, and disk space optimization.
Proper maintenance of the Bank’s UPS’s by regular checkups and ensuring that only recommended computer hardware is connected to UPS systems.
Monitors incident details, including the configuration items affected to protect systems from unwarranted configuration changes.
Administration of Domain Controllers and DNS Servers.
Implementing the auditing policy in respect of datacenter requirements.
Install and maintain various Storage, Backup, Recovery and Data Protection infrastructure.
Install and configure new hardware, software releases, system upgrades; evaluate and install patches.
Ensures access to online services; links between servers and desktops, phones and printers.
Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end user workstation hardware and peripheral devices.
Manage FTB Switches, Cabling and all network identities and addresses according
to correct standards and procedures.
Monitor and report on the performance of hardware equipment and operating systems, explain any performance deviations and provide recommendations for the redress of any difficulties.
Administration of the Collaboration and Unified Communications Systems.
Setting call limits and managing user account codes and disk quotas.
Provide Support to End-users
Adhere to ICT Policies.
Minimum qualification requirements and technical competencies:
Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and a CISCO certification in networking.
Minimum 3 years working experience in a WAN /LAN environment, which must include configuring switches, routers and firewalls.
Broad understanding of computer systems, Network operating systems and computer applications
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network problems, install and operate network monitoring tool and maintain network documentation.
Ability to work independently at any Branch in an IT support capacity
Good analytical, diagnostic and communication skills.
Good People management skills and ability to manage third party contractors
