Our client, a dynamic, company whose expertise lies in managing the construction process for renovating or building new facilities from the Irrigation Projects, Roads Construction, General Construction, Water Projects, Sewerage Systems Project and General Civil works is looking for a Finance and Administration Manager to join their dedicated team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Finance, HR and Admin Department
  • Review, update and ensure compliance with financial systems, policies, procedures and emerging best practices that are in compliance with generally accepted accounting policies
  • Provide high-level supervision of the Projects work plan budget to ensure expenditure is in accordance with the approved plan and is implemented with strong financial, administrative and governance principles;
  • Manage inter dependent departments to enable coordination both on and off the field ensuring the project is completed on time, and is completed within the budget
  • Complete project budgets and projections, change orders, and turnkey cost additions as require
  • Schedule and monitor projects within the time-frame required
  • Required to visit the field to collect and observe all project progress, challenges, needs and requirements
  • Support all operating stores within a geographical area with regard to technical issues and problems or project requests
  • Responsible for proper utilization of Construction Inventory and Equipment
  • Analyzing tenders financial viability before submission
  • Management reporting using SAP Business One thus ensuring data is up to date
  • Ensure that policies and procedures (internal controls) are reasonably in place and strictly followed to safeguard Company
  • Oversee the general accounting function that includes inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial analysis and reporting and balance sheet
  • Responsible for overall financial planning and management including cash flow, creditors and
  • Assist in budget preparation and management activities and ensure all expenses are within assigned budgets
  • Managing and controlling project budgets by working closely with the Project Managers to maintain budget vs actual reporting (monthly) and prepare budget forecasts on program implementation;
  • Train staff members in financial systems, policies, procedures, systems and emerging best
  • Oversee all office purchases and procurement
    Compliance and management of risks
  • Policies and procedures: ensure that systems and processes are in place to comply with policies, standards and procedures and legal requirements in the areas of finance, administration, taxation, logistics &
  • Facilitate internal audit missions and ensure audit follow up and action lists are addressed in a timely manner, ensure that the organization learns from audits and reviews so as to continuously improve its
    Report timely and consistently all losses and incidents, including updates, to the Managing Director
    HR
  • Oversee human resources activities; including supervision of the HR officer
  • Review and make recommendations on the human resource needs of the finance and administration department
  • Set up and oversee office supplies control system
  • Set up and oversee office inventory control system
  • Set up and oversee non-current assets control system
  • Set up and oversee usage of vehicle(s) and machines
  • Oversee security, cleanliness of compound
    Oversee rental of office premises
  • To undertake any other tasks assigned by the Managing Director which might be reasonably deemed within the status of the job and appropriate to the post

    Person profile
  • Masters in Finance/Accounting
  • At least five years’ work experience at a middle or senior level in finance and administration
  • A graduate with a degree in accounting, financial management, project management, commerce or other related
  • Fully qualified CPA or
  • Good leadership skills with ability to lead teams and oversee running of general office operations, high sense of confidentiality and integrity
  • Strong accounting background with ability to prepare budgets, cash flow projections and financial
  • Knowledge of Kenyan Labor Laws
    Familiarity with Construction industry a huge added advantage
  • Hands-on experience in the use of accounting software, particularly
  • Excellent organizational, supervisory skills, analytical and problem-solving
    Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
    Engineering training is an added advantage
