FilmAid partners with communities, creators, NGOs, Governments, and the private sector to ensure a collaborative approach to this end.
FilmAid’s work falls into the four integrated components: Media Content, Communication with Communities (CwC), Communication for Development (C4D) and Skills Development that combine to support program delivery.
FilmAid produces multiple forms of creative media, which is subsequently distributed through a variety of outreach channels, ensuring that target communities are reached.
This CwC/C4D includes targeted screening events and workshops, radio, SMS, as well as digital media platforms. In addition, FilmAid builds skills within the community to deliver the media and outreach components.
This participatory approach drives individual change, as well as ensuring community engagement and ownership of all interventions.
The main outcome of the consultant’s work is:To write and script- supervise 2 short films (10-12 minutes) that address Women in Leadership (their role in promoting their own health and that of the community) & Girls’ Mentorship in life skills and reproductive health issues.
To write and script-supervise 2 cut down of the films, (2-5 minutes), one specific to leadership and women’s role in promoting their own health and that of their community and the other on mentorship for girls in life skills and reproductive health issues developed specifically with call to action messages, dialogue and discussion topics.
Must be a Kenyan national OR must be eligible to work in Kenya;
Bachelors/Diploma in relevant discipline in Media.
Experience of working with script- writing programs.
In-depth understanding of film production process and structure;
At least 3 year experience working as a group/company
Must demonstrate ability to engage experts in every production department.
The capacity to manage and design project from start to finish, to tight deadlines;
Content interpretation experience/skills.
A flair for generating original creative ideas;
A good working knowledge of the humanitarian world;
Persistence to follow up leads and gain work;
The ability to work with others, at all levels, as part of a team;
The ability to be resourceful and adaptable and be able to solve practical and conceptual problems;
The capability to work independently.
