Communication for Healthy Communities (CHC) is a comprehensive program implemented through a cooperative agreement between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID/Uganda) and FHI 360.

The program supports the Government of Uganda (GOU)and US government (USG) implementing partners to design and implement quality health communication interventions to contribute to reduction in HIV infections, total fertility, maternal & child mortality, malnutrition, malaria & tuberculosis.

Recently, USAID expanded the CHC project to include the social marketing of three USAID products, Protector male condoms, Pilplan Plus oral contraceptives, and Injectaplan injectable contraceptives.

These activities aim to contribute to a reduction in HIV infections, total fertility, maternal and child mortality through improving utilization of socially marketed products.

We seek applications for the following vacancies:

Supply Chain Officer

The Supply Chain Officer will monitor the movement of all USAID-supported socially marketed commodities through the distribution chain.

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager, the Officer will conduct regular spot-checks at various levels of the distribution chain to verify stock-levels against reports.

The Officer will also participate in regular data reviews to identify problem areas and formulate actions

to improve sales performance.

Specific Responsibilities;
  • Support oversight of sales and distribution activities.
  • Conduct checks to ensure distribution partners are compliant with agreement terms and reported stock levels reflect actual stock levels.
  • Supervise execution of contracted re-packaging services, ensuring quality of final product reflects program requirements.
  • Provide inputs into regular forecasting activities.
  • Develop and maintain database of sales and distribution information, including current stock levels and sales, existing and targeted outlets, and other performance monitoring data.
  • Track distribution partner report deadlines and manage follow-ups.
  • Assist with the development of program reports and information.
  • Liaise with suppliers and take them through the process to ensure that registration is correct and complete.
  • Promptly provide responses for all stakeholder requests, as needed.

    Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management/ Public Administration/ Accounting/ Cost Accounting, Logistics.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing supply chain systems and commodities
  • Familiarity with USAID project regulations preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good planning and organization skills
  • Computer literacy including office applications, such as MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint
