Job Description

Key Result Area#1 Training & Development

  • Assist the OD manager in designing and assessing training programs

  • Assist the OD manager in Training need assessment surveys.

  • Under the guidance of OD Manager, liaise with contracted training providers on the progress of ongoing training programs

  • Under the guidance of OD manager, analyze staff performance evaluations and suggest for possible training opportunities.

  • Engage in providing organizational training as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Follow up on employees’ completion of required organizational trainings

  • Periodically update the organization database for training and development and report on progress.

    Key Result Area# 2 Staff Care

  • Engage in the staff care programs as assigned by the supervisor

  • Lead the staff welcome & welfare ceremonies and ensure that staff are valued for their contribution

  • Liaise with field level staff care point persons for progress and Periodically update the staff care data.

  • Continuously search for care package initiatives

    Key Result Area# 3 Staff Orientation & Induction

  • Lead the staff orientation & Induction programs in the organization

  • Follow up on the progress of staff during their probation period and ensure that timely evaluation is completed for further action

  • Under the guidance of the OD Manager, liaise with supervisors on any further improvement plans suggested on staff during the probation period.

  • Liaise with regional HR officers on the progress of field level orientation and induction process.

    Key Result Area# 4 Other HR Duties

  • Assist in the recruitment process as required

  • periodically update the HR & OD databases on areas related to OD functions

  • Lead the staff exit interview process, analyses the information and forward for management decision on further OD interventions

    Requirements

  • Practical experience in using a HRIS applications.

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to plan and coordinate work, ensure the efficient flow task and processes.

  • Strong people management skills / interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, teach and mentor staff.

  • Comfortable and persuasive when speaking before both large and small groups.

  • Ability to interact positively with all levels of the organization and across organizational and cultural boundaries.

  • Excellent people skills including warmth and sensitivity, conversational, able to relate to and effectively communicate with people from different cultures (at various levels within the organization).

  • High integrity and a strong sense of professional ethics.

  • Demonstrated computer operating skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Google platform, and virtual technologies such as Skype and / or Zoom Meeting.

  • Ability to travel up 50% of time to field locations.

    Experience

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar or senior training & Development position preferably in an International NGO or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Management or related field of study

  • Certification in training facilitation will be added advantage.

    Language

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English required.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present organizational trainings and respond to questions from groups
