Be the Strategy Behind the Game

Farsight Africa is currently recruiting a Project Manager for its Public Financial Management department. The position is to be based in Uganda. Farsight Africa operates across the continent and an ability/willingness to travel is essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical assistance and capacity building projects relating to domestic revenue mobilization, public financial management reform and Digital Transformation.

The successful candidate will also contribute to Farsight Africa’s business development efforts with key donors such as the World Bank and the EU. Experience with the World Bank will be considered a strong asset.

What You Will Bring

Education:

  • A master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, IT, economics or related field)

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/ related field of study e.g. management accounting / Public Finance Management

  • Must have Project Management Professional Certification

    Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with progressively more responsibility
    in digital transformation project management and direction, administration and public financial management in a team environment (experience managing World Bank-funded projects is considered an asset).

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the public sector, managing public sector projects.

  • Experience managing and directing new or existing international development projects, including:

  • Supervising and coordinating inputs and efforts from field and HQ team members;

  • Performing quality control on all deliverables;
    maintaining clear communication lines between HQ, the field and clients.

  • Experience with international donor reporting requirements (GAC, DFID, World Bank, etc.);

    Personal Attributes

  • Ability to work in English is required. Other languages are an additional benefit, particularly French.

  • Excellent writing skills (reports, work plans, proposals).

  • Business Development skills.

  • Strong financial management skills.

  • Strong managerial and organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; and

    Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset

  • gender budgeting/program-based budgeting.

  • budget formulation, including medium-term fiscal and expenditure frameworks;

  • Domestic revenue mobilization;

  • Extractive sector governance.
