Family Bank Ltd Head of MSME Jobs in Kenya;To provide strategic leadership in the development and growth of the Bank’s MSME Banking business by driving sustainable asset and liability growth, enhancing customer acquisition and retention, strengthening portfolio quality and delivering innovative, customer‑centric financial solutions. The role will lead MSME strategy execution, ensure effective market segmentation, strengthen relationship management and optimize risk‑adjusted returns while ensuring compliance. It will also champion partnerships, digital solutions and ecosystem approaches to enhance MSME inclusion and position Family Bank as the preferred MSME partner.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute SME Banking Strategy aligned to Bank’s plan.

  • Identify priority sectors, value chains and growth corridors.

  • Transform SME and franchise into scalable, digitally enabled lines.

  • Drive innovation in business banking products (trade, working capital, supply chain, sector solutions).

    Business Growth & Financial Performance

  • Deliver sustainable growth in SME loan book, deposits and CASA.

  • Grow non‑funded income (fees, trade finance, cash management).

  • Optimize portfolio mix for yield, diversification and efficiency.

  • Drive wallet share growth through cross‑sell.

    Credit & Risk Oversight

  • Position Bank as preferred partner for SMEs, mid‑corporates and corporates.

  • Champion customer experience excellence across onboarding and servicing.

  • Build strong relationships with industry players, regulators, DFIs and associations.

    Product & Segment Development

  • Develop tailored solutions for manufacturing, education, health, trade, agribusiness.

  • Drive supply chain and ecosystem banking.

  • Lead structured and syndicated lending initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Digital, Product and Operations teams to
    digitize SME journeys.

    People & Culture Leadership

  • Build high‑performing SME banking team.

  • Strengthen relationship management and sector specialization.

  • Drive performance culture anchored on accountability and collaboration.

  • Mentor senior leaders and build succession pipelines.

    Governance & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance standards.

  • Contribute to enterprise‑wide strategy, budgeting and performance planning.

    Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Banking or related field.

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA, AKIB or equivalent) advantageous.

    Experience Required

  • 10–12 years’ banking experience.

  • 6–8 years in SME Banking leadership roles.

  • Proven track record managing large commercial/business portfolios.

  • Success in delivering loan and deposit growth with strong asset quality.

  • Experience leading multi‑segment or regional teams.

  • Exposure to transforming or scaling bank environments desirable.

  • Experience in digital transformation in business banking an advantage.
