ExxonMobil Instrument Specialist Jobs in Nigeria;The Instrument Technician will serve as a subject matter expert for processes, procedures, and instrument equipment. The role involves troubleshooting complex instrumentation issues, supporting maintenance and project design reviews, ensuring compliance with SHE requirements, and mentoring colleagues across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Execution

  • Implement maintenance design philosophies for instrument equipment.

  • Provide technical support and coordination across business lines.

  • Support cost management and productivity improvement plans.

  • Troubleshoot complex instrumentation issues and provide operations support.

  • Contribute technical input to training development and delivery.

    Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship

  • Share best practices and provide feedback.

  • Develop strong personal expertise and mentor colleagues across the organization.

    Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to SHE requirements and regulatory standards.

  • Influence without authority and collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

    Qualifications

  • Higher National Diploma in Instrumentation & Controls, City & Guilds Level 4, or equivalent apprenticeship program.

  • BSc in Engineering or related sciences acceptable with 5+ years’ verifiable instrument technician experience.

  • Must be a Nigerian citizen with NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.

    Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years’ instrument technician work experience.

  • Previous offshore or FPSO experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, hazards, and equipment.

  • Hands‑on skills in minor repairs, routine maintenance, and adjustments.

  • Ability to
    interpret transmitters, sensors, gauges, control valves, and P&IDs.

  • Familiarity with ESD, Fire & Gas systems, CMMS (SAP), and control logic diagrams.

  • Technical knowledge of DCS, PLC systems, and instrumentation (pressure, temperature, level measurement, control loops, valves).

  • Strong attention to detail, hazard identification, and mitigation.
