Primary Purpose

  • To develop, lead and sustain the profitable revenue from a Suite of Assigned Account by direct action and through collaboration with the company Centres of Excellence (CoE) Senior Executives (SEs) to expand and extend the company’s share of wallet in the Assigned Accounts

  • To collaborate with leadership to ensure the sustainable growth of the company by playing an active role in ADCO, EXCO, Business Development, people development and Strategy creation processes

  • To develop assigned people to ensure that the individuals’ development plans and the company’s depth of expertise needs are met over time

    Objectives

  • To achieve the Purpose of the role, the KAD is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the assigned portion of the company’s business

  • This includes strategy and business development, relationship management, operational management and reporting and the management and the development of people.
  • Direct reports can include assigned KADs / SEs, Ex and PCs. Where applicable, establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships and alliances may form part of this role’s accountability.

  • In addition, the accountability for one or more of the company’s internal processes may also form part of the role.

    Functions

  • Business Management

  • Strategic Leadership

  • Contribute to the creation of the overall Strategy

  • In line with the company’s overall strategy, develop and deliver the overall Suite and individual Assigned Accounts Strategies in consultation with Suite KADs / SEs and CoE SEs
    Business Development and Relationship Management

  • Build and sustain the Assigned Account within the Suite to consistently deliver >R35m per annum at agreed profitability levels

  • Maintain an external business network and secure and maintain new key relationships at Senior Executive level

  • Influence and support Marketing and Sales plans and Service Offering positioning

  • Establish and gain agreement with clients regarding annual pricing structures

  • Assist CoE and other SEs with establishing and directing Win Teams, designing interventions and negotiating and closing sales proposals

  • Monitor competitor Sales and Marketing activities

  • Ensure the capture of the company’s historical project records and Case Studies for Sales and Marketing purposes and support the maintenance of the CV library

    Operational Management

  • Create and maintain a rolling 36-month revenue forecast

  • Manage Key Account Suite within the company’s policies and procedures and influence, refine, collectively approve and implement changes

  • Take accountability for developing and managing, to agreed levels, the Suite Operating
  • Plan including revenue, cashflow and profitability

  • Accountable for overseeing invoicing and
    debt collection

    People Management

  • Assist with recruitment and Assigned Account staffing based on multiple overall company demands

  • Accountable for performance, development and time and expense related process conformance

  • Spearhead capability development and foster a learning culture

  • Provide mentorship to Peers, Executives, Senior Managers and Principal Consultants

  • Technical Capability and Experience​​​​​​​
    Preferred Qualification – Postgraduate (Masters)

  • Extensive (>10 years) experience in a leadership role in the consulting industry is essential to ensure proven competencies in:​​​​​​​

  • Consulting intervention project design by being able to develop, propose, sell and deliver interventions that match the client’s strategic direction and strategic and operation goals

  • Developing client business knowledge through strong overall business acumen, deep understanding of clients' corporate and operational strategies and how the company can add value to our clients' results

  • Project Management skills to ensure the ability to take an across account view of multiple projects and coach, advise and guide teams in the management of their projects

  • Deep Core Consulting Skills to provide leadership in optimises core skills and methodologies

  • Specialist / CoE competencies are required to provide thought leadership and act as an ambassador for the company in own areas of specialisation
